How to Refresh and Recharge as a Mom

How to Refresh and Recharge as a Mom
Being a mom is one of the most rewarding jobs out there, but it can also be incredibly draining. Some moms even burn out.  Between caring for your family, managing the household, and taking care of yourself, it’s no wonder why many moms feel like they have no time left for themselves. That’s why it’s so important to take time to refresh and recharge—not just for the sake of your own health, but also in order to be the best mom you can be. Let's look at a few of the ways that holistic moms can stay refreshed.

Self-Care Rituals
It may sound cliché, but self-care really is essential for every mom. Without taking time for yourself, you won't have enough energy or enthusiasm to take care of your family. Make sure you're getting enough sleep each night, eating healthy meals throughout the day, having a daily self-care routine, and practice some sort of self-care ritual at least once per week (like getting a manicure or facial). Doing something that makes you feel special will go a long way towards helping you stay refreshed and recharged.  See more Self Care Rituals here.

Start a Hobby
Having a hobby is another great way to refresh and recharge as a mom. Hobbies don’t need to be expensive or time consuming; they can be anything from gardening to reading books. Even something as simple as going on daily walks with your dog can help you clear your mind and recenter yourself after an exhausting day with the kids. Having something that is just yours—something that isn’t related to work or parenting—is essential for recharging your batteries.

Say “No” More Often
One of the hardest things about being a mom is feeling like everything has to be perfect all the time—but this isn't realistic! It's okay (and even necessary) to say “no” sometimes when friends or family ask for favors; this will give you more time in your day to focus on yourself and your family without having extra obligations on top of everything else you are already doing. The key here is not saying “yes” out of guilt; if someone else needs help, let them know what resources are available outside of you so that both parties can win!

Taking care of yourself should always come first—especially when it comes to being a mom! Refreshing and recharging doesn't have to be complicated or expensive; it simply requires finding activities that make YOU feel special and fulfilled while still making sure all other obligations are taken care of first. Self-care routines and rituals, starting hobbies, and saying “no” more often are all great ways for holistic moms to stay refreshed so that they can continue being their absolute best selves!

What Mom Burnout Feels Like

What Mom Burnout Feels Like
Moms are superheroes. They juggle so much that it’s almost impossible to keep track of all the balls they’re trying to keep in the air. But one thing is for certain, mom burnout is real and can affect even the most capable of moms. So, what does it feel like? Let’s find out.

Numbness & Exhaustion
Mom burnout often feels like a fog of numbness and exhaustion. You may feel as if you have nothing left to give, but you know that there is still more to do – laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, and more. It can be hard to stay motivated when you’re feeling overwhelmed with all the tasks that need to be done and the lack of energy you have to get them done.

Anxiety & Self-Doubt
Mom burnout doesn't just take a toll on your physical and emotional health; it can also affect your mental health too. It can leave you feeling anxious and full of self-doubt, like no matter what you do it will never be enough or good enough. You may also be struggling with feelings of guilt or shame for not being able to “do it all” or handle your responsibilities with ease.

Anger & Resentment
Finally, mom burnout can lead to feelings of anger and resentment towards those around you – your spouse, family members, or even yourself. You may find yourself snapping at people for no reason or feeling frustrated by their inability (or unwillingness) to help out or understand how hard this parenting gig really is. Even if you don't outwardly express these feelings, they may still linger inside and contribute to your overall sense of exhaustion and overwhelm.

Mom burnout is real and it looks different for everyone who experiences it. If any of these symptoms sound familiar, know that you're not alone in feeling this way - many moms have been there before! Remember that taking care of yourself first will help you better take care of your family in the long run - so make sure to make time for yourself whenever possible! By practicing self-care activities such as yoga, meditation, or taking a break from social media for a few days each week – whatever works best for YOU –you’ll soon be back on the path towards feeling like Supermom once again!

Goal Setting for Moms Part 6: What are the Best Social Goals for Moms?

Goal Setting for Moms Part 6: What are the Best Social Goals for Moms?

As moms, we juggle so many responsibilities and roles that taking care of our social health can sometimes take a backseat. However, setting and achieving social goals is just as important to your overall wellbeing as any other goal – if not more so! I've put together this guide to provide some ideas on how to set yourself up for meaningful relationships with other moms who share your same interests.

Find Your Community
One of the best things you can do is find a community of like-minded moms who share your same values and interests. Check out local mommy meet-ups, join a natural parenting support group in your area, or find a local church to attend. You can also join an online forum or Facebook group specifically for holistic moms. Not only will these communities provide emotional support and understanding, but you’ll be able to learn from one another and share what works for your family and what doesn't.  Being intentional about finding groups that align with your beliefs will go a long way to help you feel connected both locally and online and you will be able to nurture friendships that may last a lifetime! Make this a SMART goal by doing one intentional thing each day to find/participate in your community.

Make Time for Yourself
It's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the demands placed on us as mothers, so make sure you're taking time each week (or even each day) to focus on yourself and practice self-care. Take a yoga class, go for a run, or spend some time alone at the beach – anything that allows you to relax and recharge. Taking care of yourself will help ensure that you have the energy needed to take care of everyone else in your life too!  If your self-care includes others, as in a fitness class or walking with a friend - that's a big bonus!  Make this a SMART goal by setting aside a certain amount of time each day to focus on self-care.

Find Common Interests
The best way to form deep connections with others is by sharing common interests or passions. Think about activities like going shopping together, attending concerts or plays, or joining book clubs, fitness or cooking classes. If there's something specific that you're interested in learning more about, look into courses offered at local colleges or universities – they often offer classes during evenings and weekends specifically designed for adult learners.  This is also a great opportunity to brush up on skills that may have been rusty since having children or starting a career!  When you are learning with others, you can develop great friendships! Make this a smart goal by setting aside time to find the classes/activities you would like, and then choosing how much time you will put into them.

Making social goals an important part of your life doesn't have to be overwhelming; start small by focusing on forming relationships with people who make you feel good about yourself and treat you with respect. Find opportunities in your area where you can connect with like-minded moms who share your values and interests – whether it’s joining an online forum or taking classes at the local community center – then take time out each week (or even each day) for self-care activities that allow you to relax and recharge. With some dedication and effort, setting social goals will help ensure that both you and your family are living balanced lives filled with meaningful relationships!

Goal Setting For Moms Part 4: What are the Best Spiritual Goals for Moms?

Goal Setting For Moms Part 4: What are the Best Spiritual Goals for Moms?

As a mom, it can be difficult to find time for yourself amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It often feels like there is no time left to focus on our spiritual wellbeing. But setting spiritual goals can help us stay connected with God and our inner selves while also manifesting greater peace and clarity in our lives. Let’s take a look at why spiritual goals are important and how moms can incorporate them into their daily lives.

The Importance of Spiritual Goals
Spiritual goals have the power to provide us with clarity and direction in our lives by helping us create deeper connections with God, ourselves, and those around us. They can also help us feel God’s inspiration guiding us and tap into our intuition so we can make decisions that align with our values and beliefs— something that is especially important for moms who are trying to raise their children with love, understanding, and respect. Not only that, but setting spiritual goals gives you something to strive for—and what better way to show your kids how important it is to grow spiritually than by being an example?

How Moms Can Incorporate Spiritual Goals Into Their Lives
Setting spiritual goals doesn’t have to be overwhelming; it’s all about taking small steps every day. For example, some moms may choose to dedicate 10 minutes each morning or evening for silent meditation or prayer (I love adding essential oils into my prayer and meditation practice.  It enhances the experience and inspiration); others may prefer mindful activities such as reading God’s word, journaling, or creative arts projects. No matter what form these spiritual goals take on in your life, they should bring peace and clarity into your everyday life. Additionally, sharing your journey towards achieving these goals with your children can be a powerful way to demonstrate the importance of staying connected spiritually. You can make these SMART goals be adding specifics on what you will do, when, for how much time, etc. (or if you are reading - a finish date).

No matter where you are in your journey towards achieving spiritual growth, setting spiritual goals is an excellent way for moms to stay connected with God and their own inner wisdom while providing valuable examples for their children along the way. From daily meditations and prayers to mindful activities like reading the Bible, journaling, or creative arts projects, there are plenty of ways moms can incorporate spiritual goals into their daily routine—and all it takes is a little bit of determination! So don’t forget: when it comes down to spirituality, it’s all about taking small steps every day towards manifesting greater peace and clarity in your life!  I have felt so much peace as I read God’s word with prayer and journaling the answers I am led to.  This practice has been a game-changer for me.  I know it can be for you, too!

Goal Setting for Moms Part 3: What are the Best Fitness Goals for Moms?

Goal Setting for Moms Part 3: What are the Best Fitness Goals for Moms?

As moms, we all want to be our best selves – physically, mentally, and emotionally. But sometimes it can be a challenge to stay motivated when it comes to physical goals. After all, taking care of a family doesn't leave much time for self-care! That’s why I’ve put together this list of physical goals that will help you maintain your holistic lifestyle while also improving your overall health and wellness.

Get Moving!
You don’t need to hit the gym in order to reap the benefits of physical activity. There are plenty of ways that you can get moving - some without even breaking a sweat! Take some time each day to do yoga or Pilates, dig around in your garden, or go for a walk around the neighborhood with your family. If you are ready to break a sweat, taking classes is one way to get your workout in- spinning, Zumba, or HIIT are all great!  But once again, gyms are not necessary; take a bike ride with your kids around your neighborhood, run around the park, or use YouTube or other videos to pick whatever workout you like.  It’s important to remember that any kind of movement is beneficial – so don’t be afraid to try something new or get your family moving with you! We all know that kids sleep better when they get exercise, too!  Make this a SMART goal by being specific about what you will do, when you will do it and how much time you will spend doing it.

Eat Well and Hydrate
Physical health isn't just about exercising – it's also about what you put into your body! Eating a balanced diet rich in antioxidants especially from lots of fruits & vegetables, lean proteins (especially from beans, nuts & seeds), healthy fats (like avocados, nuts & seeds), and complex carbohydrates(from vegetables, fruits, beans, and whole grains) is essential for maintaining energy levels throughout the day. Dumping the empty calories and junk food food will go a long way to helping you feel your best.  Additionally, make sure that you're staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. If plain water gets too boring for you, try adding some fresh organic fruit slices, herbs like mint or basil, or these vitality drops for natural flavor!  Make this a SMART goal by being specific about what you will/will not consume, how much, what times, with who, etc.

Take Time For Yourself
Finally, one of the most important components of physical health is taking time for yourself. This could mean scheduling an hour out of your week for yoga classes or even just taking twenty minutes out of your day for a relaxing hot bath. Taking time away from work and family responsibilities will allow you to recharge both mentally and physically so that you can take on each day with energy and enthusiasm.  Sometimes this seems impossible with everything on your plate, so get your family, and especially your spouse, on board so they can help you get some time for yourself on a regular basis.  Make this a SMART goal by being specific about what you will do, when, with who, who will help you, etc.

As holistic moms, it's important to remain mindful of our physical health as well as our mental well-being. I know how hard it can be at some stages of motherhood, but it is do-able and necessary to prevent burnout. By setting achievable physical goals such as getting moving, eating well and staying hydrated, and taking time for yourself each day – even if it's just 10-20 minutes – you'll be able to maintain your holistic lifestyle while also improving your overall health and wellness. Try implementing these tips today – your body will thank you later!
