Why Wellness Feels Overwhelming (And How to Simplify Your Path)

I remember when I first decided to take my health into my own hands. I was overwhelmed—like really overwhelmed. Every time I searched for answers, I found conflicting advice, endless "rules," and a million "must-have" products. Keto. Vegan. Intermittent fasting. Toxin-free everything. Move more, rest more, eat more, eat less... it was too much.
And honestly? That overwhelm kept me stuck.
I would start something with the best intentions, only to give up a week later because it felt impossible to "do it all right." 
The truth is: wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, the more we simplify, the more consistent—and successful—we can be.

Why We Feel So Overwhelmed

We live in a world where wellness is everywhere, but so is noise:
  • Social media influencers pushing the latest trend
  • Google results offering conflicting advice
  • Friends, family, even doctors all saying different things
The result? We spin. We freeze. We feel like we're failing before we even start.

How I Learned to Simplify

I finally reached a breaking point. I realized that if I was going to make lasting change, I needed to:
  1. Stop outsourcing my health.
  2. Stop chasing perfection.
  3. Start small—really small.
I came back to the basics:

Simple Steps to Reset Without Overwhelm

  1. Drink more water. Most of us walk around dehydrated, and it affects everything: energy, mood, skin, digestion. Aim for half your body weight in ounces daily. This needs to be a conscious effort.
  2. Prioritize sleep. Your body heals while you sleep. Even one extra hour can make a huge difference in how you feel. ( I know, I know, sometimes, you can't help getting too few hours, I've been there with midnight infant feedings, and potty trips, and now teenagers who want to talk when I'm barely holding my eyes open - BUT there are also times you CAN control how much sleep you get - stop the death scroll early and jump in bed!)
  3. Move your body daily. This doesn’t mean punishing workouts. A simple 15-minute walk counts. Movement clears your mind, reduces stress, and supports your body. If you can do more, then do it!  But don't let the ideal of an hour workout that you can't fit in stop you from taking 15 minutes.
  4. Nourish with real food. Not perfect food—just real food. More plants, more color, more whole foods that come from the earth. Focus on adding the good whole foods, and you won't have room for the junk.
  5. Support your body with simple, powerful tools. I love red light therapy and sound therapy!
