How to Find More Energy as a Busy Mom

How to Find More Energy as a Busy Mom
As a mom, you're probably used to being on the go. But what do you do when you find yourself suddenly lacking energy? Whether it's from stress, lack of sleep, or simply juggling too many responsibilities at once, feeling lethargic and fatigue can be frustrating and overwhelming. Luckily, there are some simple ways to find more energy as a busy mom. Here are just a few tips that can help you get back on your feet and feel energized again.

Take Time for Yourself
I know, I know. Don't roll your eyes - this is important!  And it doesn't have to take a lot of time. Sometimes the best way to find more energy is by taking a step back and giving yourself time to relax. Schedule regular times throughout the week where you can take a break from your responsibilities and focus on yourself. This could be anything from reading a book or taking a hot bath to meditating or going for a walk in nature. Even just 5-10 minutes with the bathroom door locked can do the trick when you need a breather. Taking time for yourself helps recharge your batteries so that you can tackle all of your other tasks with renewed vigor.

Get Moving
This may seem like an oxymoron when you are tired, but hear me out. Regular physical activity is one of the best ways to increase energy levels naturally. Exercise releases endorphins which not only reduce stress but also give us an extra boost of energy when we need it most. Plus, if you don't have time for an hour-long workout each day, even just 10-15 minutes of light exercise such as stretching or walking around the block can make all the difference in how much energy you have throughout the day.

Eat Well
Don't grab the C.R.A.P.!  Eating healthy meals throughout the day is essential if you want to keep your energy levels up. Try to focus on whole foods such as fruits and vegetables that will provide lasting fuel instead of sugary snacks that will give you an initial surge of energy but then lead to another crash later on. This juice is my favorite for a natural, non-caffeinated pick-me-up that keeps me going like the energizer bunny!  Also, make sure that you’re drinking plenty of water—dehydration can lead to fatigue very quickly!

Nobody said being a mom was easy! But by following these simple tips, finding more energy doesn’t have to be so difficult either. Take time for yourself, get moving regularly, and eat nutritious meals—all three of these strategies can help busy moms stay energized throughout their hectic days so they don’t end up feeling drained before dinner time rolls around! With just a few small changes in lifestyle habits, moms everywhere can enjoy more pep in their step each day!  Happy energizing!

Self Care is Possible, Even for Busy Moms

Self Care is Possible, Even for Busy Moms
Being a mom can be one of the most rewarding and yet challenging roles to take on. With all that we have to do and manage, it is easy to forget our own needs and put ourselves last. But did you know that self-care is possible for busy moms? It’s true! Here are just a few suggestions:

Prioritizing Your Mental Health
It can be hard to find time for yourself as a parent, but it is so important to prioritize your mental health. Don’t underestimate the power of taking a few minutes each day just to breathe deeply, meditate, or practice mindfulness exercises. There are great free resources available online which provide guided visualizations and relaxation techniques. You can even make time while cooking dinner or folding laundry by listening to one of these recordings! Taking time out of your day in this way will help you stay centered and recharged throughout your day-to-day activities.

Making Time For Exercise
It may seem like an impossibility with everything else going on in life, but setting aside some time for exercise can make all the difference in how you feel about yourself. And it doesn’t have to mean spending hours at the gym—you could fit simple exercises into your daily routine such as stretches during commercial breaks or yoga poses before bedtime. Even taking a few minutes out of your day for regular walks outside can help you stay energized and balanced on days when there isn't much time for anything else.

Getting Help From Others
If you are feeling overwhelmed or stretched too thin, don’t hesitate to get help from those around you! Ask friends and family members if they would be willing to lend a helping hand with childcare duties or household chores when needed. If there isn’t anyone close by who can help out, consider hiring a babysitter so that you can take some time away from home—whether it be just an hour at the park nearby or a full evening away with friends—to relax and recharge your batteries. If finances are tight, many communities offer free programs where mothers can find support with childcare services and other resources they need in order to thrive as parents while still making sure their own needs are met as well!

Self care may seem like an elusive concept when you are a busy mom trying to juggle many different priorities at once, but it really is achievable! Taking small steps every day towards prioritizing your mental health, getting some exercise into your routine, and asking for help when needed can make all the difference in how fulfilled and energized you feel overall. So don’t forget that self-care is possible even amidst the chaos - go ahead and give yourself permission today!

Why Being a Stay at Home Mom is Exhausting (Even When You Love It)

Why Being a Stay at Home Mom is Exhausting (Even When You Love It)
Being a stay-at-home mom is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding, yet exhausting jobs you can have. Whether you are new to being a stay-at-home mom or have been doing it for years, chances are that you’ve experienced the physical and emotional exhaustion that comes with the job. Let’s take a deeper look into why being a stay-at-home mom can be so exhausting.

The Physical Exhaustion
Being a stay-at-home mom means that your entire day revolves around taking care of others—your kids, your spouse, and even your extended family. From waking up early to get breakfast ready for everyone in the house to making sure all activities are taken care of throughout the day and still having energy left to put the kids to bed at night, staying at home with your kids can be physically draining. When you have infants and toddlers, there is a lot of bending, lifting, and carrying, and that is all in addition to burning the candle at both ends when they are up at night. Even if you don’t need to leave the house during the day, there is still plenty of physical labor involved in running a household such as laundry and cleaning. In addition, if you do decide to go out in public with children in tow, there will likely be extra running around—literally!

The Emotional Exhaustion
In addition to all the physical labor involved in caring for your family as a stay at home mom, there is also an emotional toll that can come with it. No matter how much you love being home with your children and family members, it can still be emotionally taxing because of all the demands placed on you every day. Not only must you provide food and shelter for your family but also make sure their emotional needs are taken care of as well. This means constantly checking in on them emotionally and finding ways to bring joy into each day no matter how exhausted you may feel yourself.
It can also be emotionally draining when trying to figure out what works best for each member of your family—every person has different needs and wants which means that finding ways to meet those needs without sacrificing too much of yourself takes time and effort. And let’s not forget about trying to find time for yourself! Taking breaks away from parenting duties often gets pushed aside due to exhaustion or lack of time or resources but carving out “me time” is just as important as taking care of everyone else!

Being a stay-at-home mom certainly isn't easy but it can absolutely be worth it when done right! Although it's impossible (and unhealthy) not to experience any exhaustion while raising children at home full time, understanding why this feeling comes up can help us combat it more effectively by finding ways to better manage our time and prioritize our own needs alongside those of our families. With some self reflection and simple lifestyle changes we can make sure we take care of ourselves both physically and mentally so that we can enjoy our journey as moms even more!

The Best Daily Self Care Rituals for Moms Part 2

The Best Daily Self Care Rituals for Moms Part 2
Missed Part 1?  See it here.

As moms, we are often so focused on caring for our families and taking care of responsibilities that we forget to take care of ourselves. But if you want to stay healthy and balanced, it is important to practice self care every day. Here are three of the best daily self care rituals for moms that can help you feel more centered and energized.

Meditation/Prayer.
Taking a few moments out of your day to engage in prayer or meditation can help you clear your head, reduce stress and anxiety, and find inner peace. Prayer is a powerful way to connect with something greater than yourself and draw strength from the divine source. And meditation can be an effective tool in calming your mind while also allowing you to tap into your inner wisdom.  I always recommend journaling along with meditation and prayer to process your thoughts and inspiration.

Essential Oils
Essential oils have been used for centuries as a holistic remedy for many ailments, but they can also be used as part of a daily self-care ritual. A few drops of essential oil on the wrist or neck can provide aromatherapy benefits that bring about relaxation, reduce stress levels, and even boost mental clarity. Additionally, essential oils can be diffused throughout the day to create a calm atmosphere in your home.

Exercise
Exercise is not only good for physical health; it’s great for mental health too! Studies have shown that regular exercise can lead to improved cognitive functioning, better moods, improved sleep quality, reduced stress levels, increased energy levels, and improved overall wellbeing. My favorite is dance fitness/zumba - I love to rock it out! Taking just 30 minutes out of your day to go for a walk or jog or do some yoga or stretching exercises can make all the difference!

Self care rituals don't have to be complicated or time consuming; they just need to be meaningful enough so that they become habitual practices within your daily routine. Meditation/prayer, essential oils, and exercise are all great ways to find balance in life as a mom – even if it’s just 10 minutes each day devoted solely towards taking care of yourself! When we take time out for ourselves every day – no matter how small – it helps us show up as our best selves for our families and ourselves!

The Best Daily Self Care Rituals for Moms Part 1

The Best Daily Self Care Rituals for Moms Part 1
As a mom, you know that taking care of yourself is essential to taking care of your family. But with everything on your plate, it can be tough to find the time (and energy) to take care of yourself. That's why I've put together a list of the best self care rituals for moms—rituals that are quick, easy, and effective. So whether you're looking for ways to reduce stress, get more sleep, or just feel better overall, these self care ideas are sure to help.

Get More Sleep
One of the best things you can do for your health is to get enough sleep. When you're well-rested, you have more energy, you think more clearly, and you're better able to handle stress. But when you're running on empty, it's all too easy to snap at your kids or make poor decisions. So how can you make sure you're getting enough shut-eye?

First, establish a bedtime routine and stick to it as much as possible. This means going to bed and waking up at the same time each day, even on weekends. Second, create a relaxing environment in your bedroom by investing in comfortable sheets and pillows, using blackout curtains or an eye mask to block out light, and setting the temperature to a comfortable level. And finally, avoid using electronics in bed—that means no TV, no laptops, and no phones. Instead, try reading a book or listening to calming music before falling asleep.

Eat Better
You are what you eat—and that's especially true when you're a mom. Eating nutritious foods helps improve your mood, gives you more energy, and keeps your immune system strong—all things that are essential when you're juggling motherhood and everything else in your life. So how can you make sure you're eating right?

Start by planning ahead. Meal prep on the weekends so you have healthy food options during the week. And pack snacks for yourself and your kids so you're not tempted by unhealthy junk food when hunger strikes. When it comes time to sit down for a meal, make sure half of your plate is filled with fruits and vegetables, one-quarter is protein (think beans), and one-quarter is whole grains (like quinoa or brown rice). And drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

Take Time for Yourself Every Day
In addition to getting enough sleep and eating well, it's also important to take some time each day just for yourself. Whether it's reading a book while your kids are napping or taking a yoga class after they go to bed at night, carving out some "me time" is crucial for maintaining your sanity as a mom. And don't worry if you can't do it every day—even 10-15 minutes of alone time can make a big difference in how you feel.

As a mom, self care is essential—but it doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming. By incorporating some (or all) of these simple self care rituals into your daily routine, you'll feel happier, healthier, and more balanced—which means you'll be able to give your best self to your family every single day.
